I've been pondering a few more things recently...which I'll share with you now:
How Could This Be Simpler? - I think about this one too. A lot.
When I read a book about Professional Sports teams...I find myself asking 'how can the things they suggest that take 25 steps and 100s of people be adapted to 4 steps and 2 people?'
How can we make something forced feel natural?
How can we make something complicated feel easier?
Most things we do, they can be made simpler...but someone has to be willing to think differently.
Who Can Help...And How Am I Best Helped? - I'm not much of a 'do it yourself' person.
Don't get me wrong, when something around the house needs to be done and get after it, but it doesn't mean I'm good at it.
I like what I like and want to spend my time doing what I want to do.
When it comes to learning something, getting something accomplished or reaching my goals...I know that I need help.
Always.
But I also know me.
If I want to learn something, I'd rather read or listen or attend in person than watch a video or go through a course.
I like coaching and masterminds better than giant conferences.
Success is a team effort...without exception. But, at least for me, it means both figuring out who I can get help from and what type of help will serve me best.
Saying 'Yes' Today is Often the Easiest Choice - But saying 'yes' today often means you're saying 'no' to something better.
For those of us with family, business commitments, self-care (hopefully) we understand that time is finite.
Maybe it's saying 'no' to giving your focus and attention to things you've already deemed important...or perhaps it's saying 'no' to a better opportunity.
Sometimes saying 'no' is the most direct path to reaching your goals.
Invest In You – You’re reading this, so you get it. But I think it’s easy for us to lose sight of investing in ourselves, our future and our goals.
Sure, we invest in our athletes but what about ourselves?
The time you spend in a given day…is it helping you create more value?
The money you spend…is it making you better or setting you up for future success?
Does It Do These 2 Things? – For an athlete they should ask themselves two questions.
Does this make them better Does it prevent injury?
If it doesn’t do at least one of those…don’t waste time on it.
OK…that’s what’s been on my mind. Maybe there’s an idea in there for you too.
