Evolution
Our ways of doing things eventually lead to diminishing returns.
It's a function of life that the things we were passionate about eventually become less motivating over time.
For many of us the familiar and safe option is staying the same.
But it couldn't be further from the truth. There is a major risk of staying the same.
Staying the same is death by a thousand cuts.
We can all think of athletes that reinvented themselves in order to continue to be successful (Tom Brady).
I'm sure that there are many things he did early in his career that he continues to do now.
But I'm also just as sure he has added new elements to his preparation.
For all of us the risk of staying the same = Dinosaur, yet we have trouble letting go of the tactics that once worked.
But in order to improve and move forward we need to learn to play offence.
In the early days the Jungle didn't have a debit machine, we took cheques and cash.
We have evolved over time and do payments in a variety of ways.
I'm very sure if we continued to take only cheques and cash, we wouldn't have a business.
Think of the place in your life where you have stagnated and I bet you haven't played much offence there in a long time.
Remember the tactics that got you to your current level won't necessarily get you to where you want to go next.
Change and thrive or hang on to the past and maybe survive.
Dedicated to your young athletes success,
Greg and Char
